Terms
Version 1.0. Last updated 28 July 2026.
You buy a license to use Crew Tower on one Mac. It does not expire, and updates are included.
The license belongs to that Mac and cannot be passed to somebody else. If your own machine changes, write to us and we will move it.
You can have your money back within 30 days, for any reason. See Refunds.
1. Who you are dealing with
Crew Tower is made and licensed by Said Altan, an individual based in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). Contact: support@crewtower.app.
Payment is handled by Polar, which is the merchant of record. You buy the product from Polar under their buyer terms, and your right to use the product is licensed to you by us under this page. Both apply, to different things: theirs to the transaction, ours to the software.
2. What you get
A personal, non-exclusive license to install and use Crew Tower on one Mac, for as long as you like. There is no subscription and no renewal fee. Updates released after your purchase are included at no extra cost.
If you buy more than one license, each one covers one Mac.
3. What the license does not allow
- Transferring, reselling, renting, lending or sublicensing your license or your license key to anyone else.
- Sharing your license key publicly, or using it on more machines than you bought licenses for.
- Removing or working around the license check.
- Reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling the app, except to the extent the law where you live says you may do so regardless of this clause.
You keep every right you have under applicable law that these terms cannot take away. Where a clause here conflicts with such a right, that right wins and the rest of this page still stands.
4. One Mac, and what happens when your Mac changes
A license activates on one machine, identified by a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware identifier. Deleting the app and reinstalling it on the same Mac is fine, and reactivating with the same key on that Mac is expected to work.
If your Mac is replaced, repaired, stolen or dies, write to support@crewtower.app and we will move your license to the new machine. We do this as a matter of course for real customers with real machines. We do not do it in order to run the app on two Macs at once.
Replacing a Mac's logic board can change the hardware identifier, which looks to the app like a different machine. That is the same conversation and the same answer.
5. The license check, and what happens when it fails
Activation needs an internet connection once. After that the app carries a signed token that proves the license offline, and it quietly renews that token in the background.
If our license server cannot be reached, nothing happens to you for three weeks: the app keeps working and keeps trying. Settings shows the date the grace period ends, so you are never surprised. If it still cannot verify after that, the app stops working until it can, and it removes its hooks from your agents' configuration.
Removing the hooks is deliberate and it is in your interest. An app that will not answer must not be left standing between your agents and the commands they are asking to run. Your agents keep working normally either way; only Crew Tower stops.
6. Refunds
30 days, any reason, no questions. The full terms are on the Refunds page. After a refund the license is revoked and stops working.
7. Support
Support is by email at support@crewtower.app, from one person, in English. We aim to answer within a few working days. It is offered in good faith rather than promised to a schedule: this is a one-person product at a one-person price, and pretending otherwise would be the dishonest part.
Anything that stops a paid license working is treated as the most important thing in the queue.
8. Other people's software
Crew Tower works alongside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Qwen Code and opencode. We do not make any of them, we are not affiliated with the companies that do, and their names are their own trademarks. What those tools do, what they charge and whether they keep the interfaces we hook into is outside our control.
The app modifies your agents' hook configuration files, keeping a backup of each file before it changes it. You can remove all of it at any time from Settings, or by dragging the app to the Trash, which triggers the same cleanup.
9. No warranty
Crew Tower is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that it will correctly surface every prompt from every version of every agent.
Crew Tower shows you approval requests and sends back the answer you choose. It does not decide anything on your behalf and it is not a safety system. You are responsible for what you approve.
If you are a consumer, this section does not remove any statutory warranty or guarantee you have where you live.
10. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with Crew Tower is limited to what you paid for your license, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost time or lost data.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
11. Ending the license
The license ends if you are refunded, or if you break these terms in a way you do not put right after we ask. If it ends, stop using the app and remove it. You can also stop at any time simply by removing it.
12. Changes
We may change the app, including adding, changing and removing features. We may change these terms for future purchases; the version that applies to your license is the one published when you bought it, and previous versions stay in the site's public git history.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and it does not stop you bringing a claim in your local courts where that law gives you the right to.
